Last year, Chase declared that he was tired of having an artifical tree every year, and next year, he wanted a real tree. Somehow, as is usually the case when Chase takes a stand, we just all fell right into line and listened. We sold the fake, pre-lit tree, and Robert and the boys headed out tonight for the ‘real’ tree. I guess the economy has taken it’s toll on Christmas tree sellers, because they are dirt cheap this year, and within an hour they were back at the house, 10 foot tree in tow for $50. You can’t beat that.
Here’s a clip from a gorgeous song by Amy Grant. This is a contemporary song, and has been a favorite of mine for about ten years now. I love the story, and her voice is haunting.
Have I ever mentioned how much I {heart} Bruce Springsteen? I love him, have been a huge fan since I was about 14. I saw him in concert this year, and that man had moves …
Another classic holiday favorite!
Those of you who know me know that Hawaii (especially Waikiki) is close to my heart, my favorite place on earth. I found this great version of a Hawaiian Christmas Carol, ‘Mele Kalikimaka’ (Merry Christmas) sung by Bing Crosby and The Andrews Sisters. I think it’s perfect when it’s 40 degrees outside, and my heater is out. I feel warm already, someone get me an umbrella drink quick!
This is for all of my family and friends back in Houston tonight! How fun to finally get a little powder on the Gulf Coast!
If you’re not sure why I chose this song tonight, check out the front page and read the other blog I wrote for tonight!
I guess my kid’s Christmas lists could be worse? At least they aren’t requesting mammoth sized animals for Christmas! My favorite part of this is when she keeps trying to say the plural version of hippopotamus!
With the exception of only a few Christmas songs, this is My. Favorite. Holiday. Song. Ever. My kids know the words, my husband knows the words, I’ve gotten them all hooked. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this song!
Here’s a great video clip from Ritchie McDonald and Jim Brickman, “I’m Coming Home For Christmas.” This song makes me think of all the military families that are apart during the holidays.
My holiday music today includes two videos, I couldn’t pick which one I liked the best. The first song is Steven Curtis Chapman’s ‘Christmas Is All In The Heart.’ This is another song that I love, especially the lyrics at the beginning about Charlie Brown’s Christmas tree. Lots of memories, loove the song.
I love music, as I’ve mentioned many time, but I really love holiday music. It doesn’t have to be Christmas music, and it can even be instrumental or from another country. I just love holiday music. For the next few weeks, as long as I can manage, I’m going to show off some of my favorite songs that are available on You Tube.
I don’t know how many of you decided to Brave Black Friday. I cannot stand crowds, much less when it’s a crowd of people at 5 am, standing outside in the cold, still high on tryptophan, ready to trample anyone necessary to reach a Tickle Me Elmo. My husband, oddly enough, is a huge fan of greeting the other day-after-Thanksgiving people. Every year, I know by about Easter, if he is going to be home the day after Thanksgiving. And, each year, I just roll my eyes and say, have fun, don’t wake me on the way out.
I few weeks ago, I wrote a post on faith. I received many replies and e-mails about that post.
On one hand, it surprised me, because I never know what (or why) people find what I …
Ohhhh my goodness, I don’t think I can watch a single episode of the Carol Burnett Show without just laughing until I cry. Why aren’t there more shows like this on TV today?
And just because I needed something to really laugh at tonight, another Ray fave.
Not like this would ever happen at my house. Ever.
