The Laziest Sunday of Them All

I got up this morning, before Robert, to take the dogs out.

While I was making the coffee, I checked my e-mail and saw a comment on my blog from yesterday that had me grinning from ear to ear.

I dashed back into the bedroom, flew on to the bed, and shoved my husband, who had long since forgotten I was up and was back asleep.

“Hey, hey, guess what” I said.

I think he grunted something back.

“GUESS WHAT,” I repeated.

He opened one eye and looked at me.

“What?”

“I’m a Harley Chick now. Isn’t that cool?

He shut the one open eye, totally unimpressed.

“You’re a WHO?”

“I’m a Harley chick. And I don’t even have to wear a helmet or  leather pants with the a** cut out.”

He put two and two together, laughed, a little, and went right back to sleep.

It was a dreary day today in south Texas.

The perfect day to do absolutely nothing, especially given the fact that tomorrow morning, most of America is going to be grouchy as hell headed back to work, dealing with the holiday hangover.

The way that I knew it was the perfect day to do absolutely nothing is because not only did I feel like doing absolutely nothing, neither did Harley. She laid in her bed most of the day, we were next to each other, it seemed each of us were content to see who would be the laziest.

You know it’s a lazy Sunday, when even the dog ain’t moving much.

That’s how it was at my house today.

A moment outside with an old shoe I've given up.

A moment outside with an old shoe I've given up.

Slow motion. In and out of bed. Nothing important.

It was a close call.

I think I won, though.

Make that a Lazy Harley Chick today.
