This was Bella tonight, after we got back from our walk, slurping down water from her bottle.
She is a totally different dog than the one I brought home a few days ago.
Each day, I come home with a little more skin left on my hand, as she learns to walk on the leash next to me, and not try to rip my arm from my socket.
I changed our walking route slightly tonight, and when we didn’t turn at the normal spot, she kept trying to turn, as if I had gone the wrong direction.
She is learning ‘nice’ with treats from the kids, and to not snatch things away.
But, we are still working on her ‘Big Girl’ mentality and my 16 pound shepherd thinking she is a 160 pound Rottweiler. When we are out walking, if any dog or person passes, it doesn’t matter how big or small either of them are, I have to make like Cesar Milan very quickly and do the whole ‘TSST’ thing, or she goes a bit bananas.
It’s okay.
She’s learning.
We all are.
