This week has been an absolute rat race, even for an experienced rat-race-runner-mom like myself.
The weather has been just horrendous and I’ve been around the entire city like thirteen times in four days, in terrible traffic, around drivers so insane that I think a full moon is near. I cannot remember the last time I’ve had so many HR issues at once. And the kid’s activity schedule this week was just over the top because of the weather and rescheduling.
My mental state tonight reminds me of the famous commercial from the 1980′s (with a slight alteration, compliments of yours truly):
This is my brain:

This is my brain tonight:

And, just typing that sent me to YouTube to find some other fun commercials because really, that’s about all I can comprehend tonight-mindless, old commercials:
1.) I had to start with this one, because Mean Joe Green and his family lived in my hometown and his kids went to school with me:
2.)This one was from the Superbowl in about 1995 and mostly makes me go to church and pray my kids never turn into wassssuupppp adults.
3.) Just watch, this is still funny, and of course coming from my family, totally appropriate:
4.) Ho ho ho, total opposite of the one above:
5.) I see a trend here….
6.) And this one because it reminds me of Jordan:
7.) For my husband:
8.) For Halloween:
9.) This kid is still cute enough to take home:
10.) And our final commercial is a reminder of how freaking simple life used to be and how easily we were amused:
And for the record, here is the original commercial based on my blog title. If only I could record over that man’s voice and say, “this is your brain on TOO MUCH GOING ON,” it fit better. Doesn’t matter though, the end effect is the same!

Wow! I remember all of those commercials. Love the Tootsie Pop commercial especially. I just did a baby shower with an owl theme and we gave out Tootsie Pops (I think only the ladies at least as old as me got it!).

My husband was helping me choose and we both just laughed and laughed at a lot of these. It was hard to pick, we could have kept going because once we thought of one, we thought of others. I think the Slinky one did me in. We nearly cried laughing at the thought of handing a kid a slinky today and saying, ‘Have Fun!’
